TERMS AND CONDITIONS

BY LEAVING ANY DEVICE OR ITEM AT OUR SHOP, YOU AFFIRM THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND ARE PROVIDING FULLY INFORMED CONSENT TO ALL OF THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:


PRICING AND SCOPE OF WORK:
We offer three typical pricing tiers for labor: $195, $245, and $295. Part costs are additional. The majority of repair labor charges fall into the $245 tier. We will reach out for approval before doing any work that would cause your balance due to exceed your initial quote. We take a $65 deposit when you drop your device off that will count towards your final bill. This deposit is non-refundable, but if repairs are declined it can be applied to any other service rendered within two weeks of your check-in date. Diagnostics of custom desktops may qualify for an $135 minimum charge if repairs are declined. Occasionally it may be impossible to source the parts required for complete repairs or parts cost may exceed the value of the device when fully repaired, and in such cases we may suggest replacing the device entirely and having us facilitate the migration to the new hardware. If repairs are declined, the device or item will be returned in the state that it is in at that point. If full reassembly of nonfunctional systems is specifically requested, we will only do so when physically possible and at our sole discretion, and such services will be billed in full as a completed repair. We reserve the right to decline to take on a requested service for any reason.

TURNAROUND ESTIMATES:
Turnaround time for most repairs is around seven business days following drop-off. We perform repairs on a first-come, first-served basis. Actual turnaround times will vary depending on our current workload and the complexity of the service required. Day one is considered to be the first business day after your device or item is physically checked in to the shop. Parts shipping times and communication-related delays may extend turnarounds outside of our typical seven business day estimate. We will text you (or call or email if you request) as soon as your machine is ready! We offer a two week no-questions-asked guarantee on all fixes. Physical damage or liquid exposure is not covered by this guarantee. Any items left at our shop for more than 60 days from the date the device is checked in will be considered abandoned and reclaimed and/or recycled at our discretion.

CONFIDENTIALITY:
Both parties agree to hold confidential all information obtained throughout this agreement not readily known or ascertainable by third parties with the exception of court process, or required for ethical disclosure to law enforcement authorities. 1201 Computer Repair will not save or share your data after service has been completed. All data stored on defective or failed storage devices will be returned to you or destroyed at your request.

LIABILITY:
No matter how much care our technicians take when they are fixing your device(s), there is always a chance that something unexpected can happen resulting in the loss of information (data, settings, etc.) or damage to hardware, especially when the item(s) in question arrive in a precarious state. We will perform all services with due care and skill, but 1201 Computer Repair and its staff members shall be waived from all liablity for any loss or damage to any devices or items left at our shop including hardware, software, and the data contained therein, as well as liability for any real or perceived consequences resulting from said loss or damage. Any devices, components, or media with any preexisting physical damage whatsoever may be unavoidably damaged further when said items are disassembled in order to identify the parts required for a repair. Work performed on any items by 1201 Computer Repair may void any and all warranties associated with said items.
